Diamagnetic Levitation

Posted by teamdustrial On November - 20 - 2008

Organisms levitate in a 32mm vertical bore of a Bitter solenoid in a magnetic field of about 16 Tesla at the Nijmegen High Field Magnet Laboratory.

BASICALLY:
Dutch Scientists learned to levitate living objects by increasing the amount of magnetic force. Since every organism has atoms that have a tiny magnetic field, they used magnets that are 100-1,000 times greater than ordinary magnets, to repel the atoms’ small magnetic fields.
