Just last weekend we got together and we’re talking about how in the future people will print their own objects using rapid prototyping machines at home. Well not in the future but right now Tokujin Yoshioka is growing furniture inside water tanks. A substrate made of polyester elastomer forms the skeleton of the piece that is then submerged in a tank where crystal growth is accelerated, the result is the Venus chair.
